Associate Professor Dr. Zuraidah Abd Manaf currently heads the Malaysia Citation Centre (MCC) since October 2015.
MCC was established on 15 February 2011, a division under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education. The strategic mission of the Centre is to improve visibility of the nation’s scholarly publications through bibliometrics analyses. The core focus of MCC is not merely on acquiring, managing and disseminating scholarly publications, but also on measuring and executing data analytics on the strategic performance of the scholarly outputs. She is on secondment from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is a lecturer with the University since March 1999. Prior to joining the University, she served Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) as a librarian from 1989. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2008 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Her PhD thesis explored the issues on the current state of digitisation and establishment of a National Digital Cultural Heritage Repository (NDCHR) in Malaysia. Her area of specialisation includes Information Storage & Retrieval and also Resource Descriptions & Discoveries. Her research interest encompasses a broad area involving Bibliometrics, Organisation of Information, Digitisation of Cultural Heritage Information, Preservation of Digital Cultural Heritage Information, and Security and Risk Management for Digital Resources.
